German Report

Monday, 20 May 2013

Felix, Corinna, Joshua, Maunel, Burak, Darleen, Pervin and Michelle travelled by train to Mont de Marsan on Monday morning. In the morning we travelled from Giessen to Frankfurt and from Frankfurt we travelled by ICE to Pairs Est. From Paris Est we had to switch the train station so we had to go to Paris Montparnasse. At Paris Montparnasse we travelled to Bordeaux with the TGV. It took 3-4 hours to Bordeaux. In Brodeaux we had to switch the train. So we travelled from Bordeaux to Bayonne and from Bayonne we travelled to Mont-de Marsan. In the evening we arrived in Mont-de Marsan. The French teachers took us to the boarding school and the boys and girls went to their rooms. The boys bought pizza for themselves and for the girls. After the boys came back we saw the Polish students. It was very nice to see them after lots of months had passed. Everyone was glad to see the Polish students after a long time

On Tuesday morning, at 9:00 o’clock, the Polish and German students went to breakfast. After breakfast the French, Polish and German students went into the classroom and met the teachers.  They spoke about the week’s events. At first, the headmaster of the school came to welcome the Polish and German visitors. After the welcome speech, the French students presented information about what they prepared for the upcoming fashion show.  The Polish students conducted their presentation about Fair Trade.
In the afternoon we worked in multiple groups of six students. In each group there were two Polish, two German and two French students. The French prepared a wild goose chase for the German and Polish students in Mont-de-Marsan. The French students showed the visitors some of their favorite places in the city like the church, the music-café, the museum of the artist Robert Wlérick and the bull-leaping arena. Unfortunately it rained the whole day. After that, we went back to school where we had a small afternoon snack together.

On Wednesday we met in the classroom to prepare the Fair Trade Fashion-Show, which began at half past three. At this meeting we discussed who cared about the music and who wanted to be one of the models (from every country two people were a model).

The French students organized a radio interview which was broadcast by the radio station of the city.
After a successful fashion show we had some freetime to go shopping in Mont-de-Marsan until six o’clock.
Back in the school, most of the German visitors watched a dance act from the French people before we went back in our rooms to go to sleep.

On Thursday 23th May 2013 the Polish, French and German students and teachers made a trip to Bayonne. After the breakfast we got big lunch packages for the lunch in Bayonne. We drove to the city by bus where we got citymaps at the meeting point to find back. First we visited the museum of the Basque nation. Then we had free time in Bayonne to watch the city or to lunch. After our free time we went back to the meeting point and drove to the chocolate museum where we were split in two groups, German and Polish students and the French students. We watched a film about the cocoa factory. At the end of the museum tour we had time to taste the chocolate. Our last station on this day was the coast and some Polish students went to swim although it was windy and cold.

Friday was the last day we stayed at the bording school. The German and the Polish students  had to prepare the luggage for the homecoming. The Germann students wanted to travel to Biaritz. But they wanted to travel by bus and the bus just came in the afternoon so they had to wait for the bus. The French students made a basketball tournament. It was very funny to watch the matches. At the end the German students said goodbye to the French and the Polish students. The German students travelled to Biaritz and went to the hotel. The boys and girls went to their rooms and looked how good they were. In the evening they all went to the city to the supermarket. Everyone bought things for the next 2 days.
It was a very interesting week in Mont-de Marsan and the last 2 days in Biaritz were funny too.
